Join the hilarious Womack duo, fresh face Kacey Damaty, Heather Joyce the Winner of the ’23 Competition at Court Square Theater, and Headliner Paul Snyder out of Charlotte, NC for a night of wit, charm, and side-splitting humor.
CO-HOSTS: THE FUNNY WOMACKS – Rockingham, VA
Dawn & Chris Womack are a dynamic local comedy couple. Dawn brings a warmth, charm and “we are family” vibe to the stage and her podcast with her lighthearted observational humor on her human experience. While Chris exposes a witty comedic style paired with a dry sarcastic sense of observational humor in the classroom and now on stage. By day Chris professes Kinesiology at JMU and Dawn hosts the podcast Virginia Is for Laughers, a podcast about all things non-hiking in the Shenandoah Valley;-) They organize the annual Cave Comedy Fest featuring comedy shows inside a cave; teach stand up classes and their newest adventure is Uncorked Laughter, a wine class and comedy experience.
KACEY DAMATY – Harrisonburg, VA
Born in Las Vegas, and raised in Paterson, N.J., Kacey moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 1991. She is a recent graduate of the FWAF comedy classes and made her comedic debut at the graduation showcase in May and now performs around the regional comedy circuit. She is a single mom of two boys and works at JMU. She’s finding her comedic voice as she keeps people in stitches along the way.
HEATHER JOYCE – Fredicksburg, VA
Heather has been doing standup since 2019 after moving back to Virginia from LA — Lower Alabama. She performs all over Virginia, DC, and Maryland in comedy clubs, scifi conventions, and even elementary schools. With her quick wit, she explores topics from the mundane to the nerdy to the just plain weird. She returns to Court Square Theater after winning the comedy competition at this theater in Fall 2023!
HEADLINERL: PAUL SNYDER – Charlotte, NC
Based out of Charlotte, NC, Paul has emerged quickly in the comedy scene at large performing his unique brand of humor across the US. He won the Jokes Out Loud “I’m Ready” Competition & was Jeanne Robertson Humor Competition finalist. He has performed with Dusty Slay, Carlos Mencia, Shaun Jones, and many others. He is currently opening for Henry Cho on his tour. The last time he performed at Court Square Theater he was a feature comic and now returns as a headliner!
The Funny Womacks and Friends (formerly X2 Comedy) to spread the joy and benefits of laughter in our community through a live performing arts series at Court Square Theater. The FWAF Show provides high-quality clean (PG-13) shows featuring talented national touring, regional and local comedians.
