Falling for Broadway: A Night of Cabaret offers a glitzy Big Apple-style performance, accompanied by an array of delectable desserts and beverages. And, the fancy fun is all for a good cause: supporting the work of Arts Council of the Valley (ACV).

Falling for Broadway: A Night of Cabaret brings the unique acting, singing, and cabaret talents of Mary Callanan and Brian Patton to Harrisonburg for this engaging and memorable ACV fundraiser. This upscale night of entertainment will support Arts Council of the Valley’s year-round work to cultivate the arts, create experiences, and connect communities in the City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

“Creative Black Tie” attire is encouraged

Mary Callanan is an actor, singer and cabaret performer, who enjoys a career in theatre, film and television as well as the concert stage. She has appeared on Broadway in Annie, Mamma Mia!, and Bandstand; toured with Damn Yankees, Mamma Mia!, The Bridges of Madison County, and My Fair Lady; and appeared regionally in Gypsy, Les Misérables, and Kinky Boots. Callanan has performed cabaret in New York City, Boston, and Provincetown, MA.

Brian Patton has performed as a singer and pianist in New York City and throughout the Northeast for more than 20 years. A graduate of the Hartt School of Music in West Hartford, CT, Patton also did graduate studies in Music Education at Central Connecticut State University. His
vocal group 16th and Savoy performed regularly at Don’t Tell Mama in NYC, and his IRNE award winning At the Movies group performed a series of musical reviews with regular appearances at Scullers Jazz Club, Boston.

CABARET (noun) /ˈkæb.ɚ.eɪ/

Originating in France in the late 1800s, cabarets are known for their delicious mix of singing, dancing, and comedy. They are also effective at helping people set aside cares to focus on an evening of stellar vocal talent, choreography, and perfectly-timed one-liners. The idea of Broadway in Bloom is to have fun – lots of it – while also raising funds to support ACV’s programs.
